Self-Portrait: The Bride of Covidstein

       Brooklyn, NY, 2020

For many people during the initial months of Covidtime, getting a haircut was off-limits. Many people let their hair grow long.  Most wore their hair their hair in a constant ponytail or bun. I felt like the Bride of Frankenstein because when I dismantled her bun, ahuge swath of unruly hair cascaded into a halo around her head. I rather liked it. It felt akin to my big hair of the 1980s. Inspired by cinema, my hairdo fit the times which felt like a sci-fi coming of age moment.
