Self-Portrait: Caged-In 2: The BirdCage

Denver, Colorado, 2021

Feeling stuck inside one's mind is something I often felt during Covidtime. In this photograph, a bird cage keeps me locked inside looking for a way to escape, while also looking out at the viewer to connect. With a nod to surrealism, the eye is a centerpiece, symbolizing vision and seeing through a lens as a photographer does.
