Self-Portrait: Disturbed 2

Brooklyn, NY, 2021

A strong beam of light, a disfigured face. Is the subject a victim ready to act in self-defense or a mad aggressor ready to pounce? A blade pointed towards the eye causes deep shadows suggesting some form of madness. Creating Self Portrait: Disturbed 1 and 2 was cathartic. It’s a form of acting. These photos were actually fun to make. You never know what you will get. The results are always surprising.
